Is DB Woodside really singing in the Lucifer musical episode?

Lucifer season 5 part 2 is finally here and with it has come the show’s highly anticipated musical episode, “Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam.”

The episode manages to get everyone on the feet to sing and dance along to the music at some point in the episode including all principal members of the cast. That’s right, not only do we get to hear the likes of Tom Ellis and Lesley-Ann Brandt perform new songs, but we also get to see the rest of the cast perform including DB Woodside.

While Amenadiel breaks out into a fun musical duet with Linda, the real question on every fan’s mind is whether Woodside is really singing in the episode or if he’s simply lip-syncing to another performer’s vocals.

If you’re wondering whether DB Woodside is actually singing in the Lucifer musical episode during Amenadiel’s performance, you’re not alone as it’s a question many have asked since the episode dropped. While we know Ellis and Brandt can sing thanks to their past musical performances, this is Woodside’s first time singing on the show so it’s natural for there to be a curiosity.

Much like his co-stars, Woodside does indeed perform his own song and that is the actor’s real voice you’re hearing when Amenadiel breaks out into song.

In “Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam,” Woodside performs a remixed version of “Just the Two of Us” with costar Rachael Harris which blends together both the Bill Withers and Will Smith covers of the song — with Woodside performing the Will Smith cover.
