5 good Netflix movie recommendations: The Highwaymen and more
Need a great movie to watch this weekend? Netflix has totally got you covered. The end of any month is always a slower time for new releases, but there’s still a ton of great stuff to sort through before the April 1 new movie dump.
This week is especially a good one if you’re a fan of movies that cover true stories. In case you need a place to start, check out this handy list of 5 great movies to watch this weekend.
Let’s kick things off with a brand spankin’ new Netflix original:
Have you jumped on the true crime band wagon yet? Be sure to check out The Highwaymen, a period piece that stars Woody Harrelson and Kevin Costner as the two Texas Rangers charged with taking down Bonnie and Clyde. Early reviews from critics are mixed, but you should definitely check this one out for itself.
Like a good spoof? You need to watch Tucker and Dale vs. Evil this weekend! This hilarious movie turns the horror genre on its head as it follows the story of two redneck friends who are mistakenly identified as blood-thirsty criminals.
Jokingly called a “Southern Fairy Tale,” The Legend of Cocaine Island is a documentary that covers the story of a group of men who went looking for buried drugs on a tropical island. After great Netflix documentary successes like Abducted in Plain Sight or The Ted Bundy Tapes, could this be our next true crime fix?
As Netflix new releases are sparser this week, let us suggest a good movie you may have missed at the end of last month: Our Idiot Brother. This goofy comedy stars Paul Rudd as a hopeless hippie who relies on his sisters to get by.
Another sweet flick from the end of last month is Dolphin Tale 2. Both this flick and the first in its series are currently available to stream on Netflix and they make for great family viewing.
